MFU Announces $1000 Wiggins Scholarship
Available
JEFFERSON
CITY (November 5, 2007) – To reward students
for their service to rural communities and dedication to agriculture,
Missouri Farmers Union (MFU) will offer the Gary Wiggins Scholarship
to a young person currently pursuing or wishing to pursue post-secondary
education with plans to enter production agriculture or other
related service to rural communities upon completion of their
degree. To increase their investment in the next generation
MFU has increased the scholarship award to $1000 in 2008. The scholarship is available to students planning to attend
or currently attending schools within the United States, vocational
or otherwise. Adult and non-traditional student applications
are welcome. To apply, students must provide a completed application
form and an essay. The application packet must be filled out
completely Farmers Union membership is preferred, but not required.
Applications must be postmarked on or before January 4, 2008,
to be considered. Winners will be announced at the Missouri Farmers
Union Ninth Annual Convention, January 25-26, 2008 in Moberly.
